The Rashi School Honors Rebecca and Glenn Burack

The school honored Rebecca and Glenn Burack with the 2023 Kehillah (Community) Award for their outstanding leadership and commitment to the school as well as to the local Jewish community.

“We were thrilled to present Rebecca and Glenn with this meaningful award,” stated Head of School Adam W. Fischer. “Their work on behalf of The Rashi School is truly exceptional. Both Rebecca and Glenn embody the spirit of Rashi with their enduring passion, vision, dedication, and enthusiasm. It is a privilege to recognize these two outstanding individuals with this honor.”

The Buracks have served, and continue to serve, in many leadership roles at The Rashi School, making a profound impact on its development and success. Rebecca Burack is a former Rashi Board Chair and Partner at Bain & Company, where she leads Bain’s Private Equity Consulting Practice globally and advises leading private equity investors and alternative asset managers across the full investment cycle. She serves on the Board of Trustees at The Rashi School. Rebecca served as the President of the Rashi Board from 2017 to 2019 and has been on the Board for nine years. Since joining the Board, Rebecca has co-led the development of Rashi’s strategic plan, served on the Committee on Trustees, Chaired the Committee for Head Support and Evaluation, and served on the Executive Committee. Additionally, she is active with Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) where she was a member of the most recent Acharai Class and served on the Jewish Day School cabinet. Rebecca earned her BS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and her MBA from Harvard University.

Glenn Burack is an independent business consultant to several companies in the Boston area and a venture investor in early stage companies. He recently left Bose Corporation after a nearly twenty year career with the company as the General Manager of the global Aviation and Military business unit. Glenn serves on the Finance Committee at Temple Beth Elohim. He earned his BS in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University and is an avid tennis player. Rebecca and Glenn live in Newton and are the proud parents of Rashi graduate Ethan ’21 and current Rashi Grade 8 student Gabriella.

The Rashi School also proudly presented the coveted Tikkun Alum Award to this year’s recipients

Harris Wallack '10 of Weston and Eva Weintraub '08 of Needham. This award was created in 2012 to celebrate Rashi alumni who demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice and tikkun olam (repairing the world) in their lives beyond Rashi. Through personal and professional efforts, Tikkun Alums embody the values of social justice that were instilled in them as Rashi students.

Event co-chairs were Tracey and David Frankel, Jen and Eric Spindt, and Talia and Adam Valkin. Over the years, The Rashi School Annual Dinner has evolved into a joyous celebration of Rashi and its impact on our Jewish and global community.
