Taco Bell Cantina Plans To Open In Southie

SOUTH BOSTON — Taco Bell Cantina is planning to open a location in South Boston.

Cantina Hospitality, LLC has applied for a license to open a restaurant into a building on West Broadway off of Dorchester Street that has been empty for years.

The Common Victualler License applied for will house a restaurant on two floors, with room for 14 on the first floor with a service counter, restroom, and kitchen area. The basement will be used for a prep area and food storage.

If the license is approved, this restaurant will join the first Taco Bell Cantina in Boston on Commonwealth Avenue near the B-Line. However, the Southie location has yet to seek out a liquor license and there is nothing mentioned about sit-down service.

It is however seeking a closing time of 2 a.m., giving the locals something to look forward to after a night at the bars nearby.
