'The Walking Dead' Seeking Extras In The Boston Area

Casting for background roles on season two of "The Walking Dead: Dead City" is happening now in Boston.

BOSTON, MA — Get ready to be zombified: A casting company is looking for Boston area locals who are interested in being extras on "The Walking Dead: Dead City" season two.

Filming for the second season of the AMC horror-drama series will run in Boston from April through July, and background roles will be cast for people of all ages and ethnicities, Kendall Cooper Casting said.

Some extra roles will work 1 or 2 days of filming, while others will be recurring throughout the season, according to casting. Extras casting will be ongoing throughout the filming schedule.

The team is casting people to portray walkers, soldiers and apocalypse survivors. Casting added that they are specifically looking to cast people who are very tall and thin with flexible schedules to play walkers, atheletes and people with military or law enforcement experience to play soldiers, and capable people with weathered faces to play apocalypse survivors.

Filming generally takes place Monday through Friday and will be a 12+ hour commitment for each day of work, casting said, adding that all extra work and fittings are paid. Production is seeking SAG and non-union talent who are local hire only as no travel or housing compensation will be provided.
