MASSACHUSETTS — The Martha's Vineyard man facing charges related to multiple stabbings in Massachusetts, including the stabbing of four girls in Braintree, will remain in custody.

Jared Ravizza was deemed to be a danger to the public at a recent hearing, meaning he won't receive bail as his case moves forward.

Ravizza, 26, who is from Chilmark, faces four charges each of attempt to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Braintree. He faces additional charges in Plymouth and may be tied to an investigation in Connecticut, too.

The theater stabbing happened first, around 6 p.m., when Ravizza entered AMC Braintree 10 in the 100 block of Grandview Avenue, passed the ticket counter, went into one of the theaters without paying and stabbed the four girls, unprovoked and without warning, police said. He then fled the theater in a black SUV, according to police.

The girls, ages 9 to 17, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were taken to hospitals for treatment, police said.

Police reports, first reported on by Boston 25, detail the experience of the victims in the theater who described Ravizza like a horror movie character.

"He had a smile on his face that looked like it was sculpted out of a horror movie, he was freaky, he had wrinkles on his face, his face was so animated, and he laughed like the Joker," one victim said.

Around 7 p.m., Ravizza approached the drive-thru window of a McDonald’s at the Exit 13 rest area off Route 3 in Plymouth and, following a dispute over payment, stabbed two workers and fled south on Route 3, according to police.

Surveillance video of the restaurant showed that Ravizza stabbed a male victim with a large knife through the drive-thru window, then parked his car and went inside before stabbing a female victim, the district attorney's office said. The employees, both in their 20s, suffered injuries that did not threaten their lives and were brought to hospitals, according to police.

After Ravizza fled the rest stop, state troopers tried to pull over his SUV, but it did not stop and instead crashed, according to police. He was driving a 2018 Porsche Macan and was taken into custody around 7:15 p.m. in Sandwich, the district attorney's office said.

Ravizza is also connected to the murder investigation of West Hartford resident Bruce Feldman, 70, who was found dead in Deep River on the same day as the Massachusetts stabbings. He is charged with one count of murder, two counts of animal cruelty and criminal mischief in Connecticut.
