ArtsEmerson Announces Bold and Diverse 2024-2025 Season

Int'l plays, dance, puppets! ArtsEmerson's 24/25 season tackles love, justice & a prison-free future

Boston's ArtsEmerson unveiled its upcoming season, showcasing a lineup of nine international plays and theatrical events. The 2024-2025 offerings highlight the company's commitment to global perspectives, social issues, and artistic innovation.

Season Highlights:

  • Rough Magic (July 12-13): A new play by Christopher Rivas exploring the complexities of love and relationships.
  • Fight Night (Sept 20-21): Ontroerend Goed's interactive performance where the audience picks the winner in a political race.
  • In the Same Tongue (Sept 26-29): A vibrant dance piece by Dianne McIntyre that explores the connections between dance, music, and language.
  • On the Eve of Abolition (Oct 31-Nov 3): A bilingual multimedia performance by Papel Machete that envisions a future without prisons.
  • Life & Times of Michael K (Jan 31-Feb 9): A poignant puppetry adaptation of J.M Coetzee's award-winning novel.
  • Prison Dancer: The Musical (Feb 22-Mar 16): A critically acclaimed musical inspired by a viral video about redemption through dance.
  • The Seasons (World Premiere, Mar 12-16): A co-presentation with Boston Lyric Opera, featuring a reimagining of Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons."
  • It's a Motherfking Pleasure** (April 2-13): A scathing satire by FlawBored that tackles identity politics and social justice performativity.
  • Utopian Hotline (May 1-18): An experimental collaboration with the Museum of Science that explores humanity's future through a telephone hotline and live performance.
