BROOKLINE, MA — Add in-person classes at the Brookline Arts Center to the list of things that are back for kids, teens and adults after the pandemic put so much on hold for a year.

Registration is open for July and August classes and all ages will be welcomed back to the center's historic building at 86 Monmouth St. in Brookline.

“This summer’s programs are going to look a little different than past years,” the Brookline Arts Center wrote in a statement on its website. “The safety of our faculty, students, and staff is our top priority. We will be offering half-day programs for children ages 5 to 17 and will continue to offer virtual classes and adult evening and weekend classes. We are committed to continue providing the same high-quality classes and programs our community is used to receiving.”

Like many aspects of life, new policies are in place to both assure participants that the center is following government requirements for running summer programs and to be sure that families agree to the important role everyone plays in keeping their summer experience as healthy as possible, center officials stressed.

The center officials said they plan to also run virtual programs for children, teens and adults to ensure everyone in the community has access to meaningful experiences in the arts.
