CHELSEA, MA — Firefighters battled a 3-alarm fire inside a Chelsea triple-decker early Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 5 John Street, a large 12-unit building with a wood frame structure around 1 a.m.

Chelsea Fire Chief Leonard Albanese said no injuries were reported, but several people were displaced. He added that the humidity, high heat, and some hoarding conditions made putting out the heavy fire difficult.
