Obituary: Ryan J. Morrissey, 17, of Charlestown

Ryan is the adored and loving son of Stephen G. Morrissey and Carol A. "Sis" (Powers) Morrissey.

Ryan J. “Duce” Morrissey, passed away tragically at Massachusetts General Hospital on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 at the young age of 17.

Ryan was born in Boston on July 20, 1997, a son of Stephen G. Morrissey and Carol A. (Powers) Morrissey. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system, and was currently a senior at St. Clement’s High School, a member of the Class of 2015 and also a member of St. Joseph’s Prep hockey team. He worked as a Junior Counselor at the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club, and was a member of Charlestown Youth Hockey.

Ryan is the adored and loving son of Stephen G. Morrissey and Carol A. “Sis” (Powers) Morrissey. He is the devoted brother to Craig Powers and Michaela Morrissey. He is the loving uncle to Brayden, Craig Ryan, and Seamus. He is the beloved Grandson of Mary J. Morrissey and the late Joseph M. Morrissey, and also Carol Powers and Francis Powers. He is lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ryan’s Funeral Mass on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Carr Funeral Home, which is on 220 Bunker Hill St. in Charlestown.
