Children & Adults Choir - Together!

Dan McKinley

Three years and counting - three years since we added children to the Choir of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Danvers, MA. We call them the “Trebles”. They’re reading music, singing with beauty and power, and participating with insight in worship.

To learn a foreign language fluently, start early. Same with music. Our kids are learning to speak/know/sing/play it fluently, skills they’ll retain the rest of their life, and we pray that their walk with Jesus continues for lifelong as well.

It’s a centuries-old tradition that children (only boys, until recently) sing the soprano lines of the church’s choral music. That happens because experienced choristers mentor the less experienced. The less experienced need to begin sometime, so if your kids haven’t yet started, now’s the hour.

Non-church families are also invited to this choir school. They’ll benefit greatly, in more ways than one. Email choirmaster Dan McKinley to inquire further: [email protected].

Trebles (age 9+) start Tuesday, September 3, 4:00 to 5:30 pm. They join the adults that Thursday evening, 6:30 to 8:30, and then sing the following Sunday, September 8, rehearsing at 9:00 am. They sing everything the adults do and are full-blown choir members!
