Chubby Checker Adds 'Twist' To 204th Topsfield Fair Stage

The legendary performer returns to the North Shore's biggest fall festival for the first time in four years.

DANVERS, MA — Everybody attending the Topsfield Fair on Oct. 5 has a little more than a month to brush up on their "twist" game.

Chubby Checker — the legendary performer who hit it big with "The Twist" and "Limbo Rock" — is set to return to the Topsfield Fair for the first time in four years this fall.

Checker will play Wednesday of the Fair, which runs from Sept. 30 through Oct. 10, joining country star Trace Adkins and classic rockers Kansas as headlining acts during the 2022 event. All shows are free with paid admission to the Fair.

"It's been four years since Chubby Checker performed at the Fair and I've been looking forward to having him back ever since," Topsfield Fair General Manager James O'Brien said. "You won't want to miss your opportunity to see this legendary performer live."

Ticket prices for the 2022 Topsfield Fair are $20 each day with discount admission available for tickets purchased by Sept. 29. General Admission discount tickets can be purchased for only $15 plus a $2 convenience fee with the Fair's new electronic ticket system.

Tickets are good any day during the Fair's 11-day run. Children under eight are free with an adult admission ticket.
