DANVERS, MA — Danvers will have a new 911 emergency services ambulance provider starting on July 1.

The town said on Thursday that the ambulance contract starting July 1 was awarded to Northeast Regional Ambulance Service — which has provided service in Beverly since 2006 — after what it called a "competitive procurement process with multiple regional vendors."

"Based on a review of the proposals, we found their operational plan to be best suited to provide quality EMS emergency response to the citizens and visitors of Danvers," said Danvers Fire Chief Robert Amirault, adding that Northeast has "an impeccable reputation."
