DANVERS, MA — Danvers lifted its snow emergency parking ban Friday morning.

The ban was put in place Wednesday night for the storm that dropped more than a foot of snow across the North Shore.

Danvers police spokesman Stephen Baldassare told Patch that patrols on duty Thursday handled a "handful" of parking ban violations throughout the early morning shift, which he said is "very common for the first storm of the year."

He said "a few" vehicles were towed at request of the Danvers Department of Public Works.

Residents are reminded that curbside trash collection is delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. Any items left curbside must be clear of snow as trash collectors cannot remove items from snowbanks.
