Danvers High Football Team Set For Final 4 Showdown

Falcon teams reach States in boys cross country and cheerleading, while four student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent last week.

DANVERS, MA — The Danvers High football team will have its chance to play for a spot in the state championship game when the fifth-seeded Falcons face Hanover at Weston High School on Saturday.

Danvers advanced to the Division 5 state semifinals with a 10-0 victory against Dedham on Thursday.

Saturday's game is set for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

The gridiron success is part of a strong fall season of athletic achievements at Danvers High, including the boys cross country and cheerleading team qualifying for States and four student-athletes signing their National Letters of Intent last week.

Ben Hanas signed to play soccer at Drexel University, Sean Moore will run track and cross country at Merrimack College, Jordan Turcotte committed to play lacrosse at Southern New Hampshire University and Jordan Bartlett committed to play women's lacrosse at Young Harris University.

The Danvers boys cross country team was 5-1 in the regular season and won the Northeastern Conference championship. The Falcons went on to win the Class 2B championship and advanced to States on Saturday.

Will Conklin, Moore, J.J. Rooney and Charlie Garlin earned NEC All-Conference honors.

Grace Conklin and Emily Sullivan earned NEC All-Conference honors for the girls cross country team.

The boys soccer team won the NEC Sportsmanship Award with Bradley Piscitello selected as an NEC All-Star.

The Danvers field hockey team was ranked No. 9 in Division 3 and advanced to the Round of 16 in the state tournament. Maddie Chase was named the NEC Player of the Year with Bobbi Serino, Megan McGinnity and Chase named NEC All-Conference, and Abby Sher, Molly Emery and Gabby Griffin Fetch were named NEC All-Stars.

The cheerleading squad finished second at the NEC Championships and third at Regionals. The cheerleaders will compete at States on Sunday.

The girls soccer team was ranked No. 9 in Division 3 and advanced to the Round of 16. Georgia Prouty was named NEC Player of the Year, while Olivia St. Pierre and Addi McCarty were named NEC All-Stars.

The girls volleyball team was ranked No. 13 in Division 3 and reached the Round of 16. Audrey Lapine, Katelyn Cicerone and Riley Devitt were named NEC All-Conference, while Abby Sullivan and Maddie McClearn were chosen as NEC All-Stars.

The golf team finished fourth in the NEC Open and received the Sportsmanship Award. Bobby Fish was the NEC Golfer of the Year and advanced to States where he finished 11th. Brandon Glowik and Bryce Clark were both named NEC All-Stars.
