Danvers To Host Annual Declaration Of Independence Reading

The reading will take place at the Rotary Pavilion of the Peabody Institute Library on July 4.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers will host its annual public reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 4 at 11 a.m. at the Rotary Pavilion of the Peabody Institute Library on Sylvan Street.

The public is invited to attend the event and participate in the reading, which will include State Rep. Sally Kerans (D-Danvers).

"We gather to read the Declaration each year to affirm the principles of freedom, liberty
and equality for all,” said Sally Kerans, who first organized the reading in 2010 and represents the 13th Essex District in the Massachusetts House.

Copies of the Declaration of Independence will be available to those who attend.

Anyone looking to read a portion of the document is asked to arrive by 10:40 that morning.
