Danvers Route 114 Detours Extended For Emergency Gas Line Work

The repairs, which were supposed to be wrapped up early Friday morning, will cause lane restrictions and detours until at least noon.

DANVERS, MA — Emergency gas line repairs that were scheduled to take about five hours on Thursday night will instead cause detours on Route 114 in Danvers until at least noon on Friday.

The state Department of Transportation on Friday morning extended the work window for a second time because of emergency National Grid gas line repairs on Route 114 westbound at the Route 1 northbound on-ramp and Route 1 northbound exit off-ramp to Route 114 in Danvers.

The detours and lane closures began at 8 p.m. on Thursday night and were originally set to expire at 1 a.m. Friday morning. The work window was extended until 8 a.m. at one point Friday morning.

  • Drivers on Route 114 westbound will take a right onto Route 1 northbound
  • From Route 1 northbound take a right onto Route 62 westbound
  • Then from Route 62 westbound take a right on Route 1 southbound
  • Continue on Route 1 southbound and take a right back onto Route 114 westbound

MassDOT encouraged those who needed to drive in the area Friday morning to reduce speeds and use extra caution while approaching work zones.
