Danvers Zero Waste Weekend Celebrates Earth Day

Take spring cleaning to the next level by recycling textiles, electronics, and more on Saturday and Sunday.

DANVERS, MA – This weekend in Danvers, you can recycle all kinds of items. The DPW's Earth Day Zero Waste Weekend will go from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the Danvers High School parking lot on Cabot Street.

According to the event flyer, the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation will collect clothing, shoes, linens, stuffed animals, and small toys. XTechnology Global will collect electronic likes TVs and computers for $15 for items 20 inches diagonally, and $25 for anything larger.

XTechnology will also take air conditioners, laptops, dehumidifiers, stereos, and VCRs for varying fees.

Big Hearted Books will be on site collecting books, DVDs, CDs, video games, and records. JRM will shred two boxes of paper per participant for free, and shred additional boxes for $5 each. That money will go to the Danvers Community Council.

Participants can also recycle various metal items, rigid plastics, and redeemable cans and bottles. Click here for a detailed list of items that can be recycled.
