DANVERS, MA — Two siblings from Essex North Shore Tech are looking to spread the word on autism awareness and how their shared bond is helping both accel academically and in the community.

The Skanes are set to talk with young students about their journey together on Friday morning at the Brown Elementary School in Peabody, then in the afternoon at the Great Oak Elementary School in Danvers and Smith Elementary School in Danvers.

They have been outspoken advocates in their neighborhood, schools and with area organizations to bring awareness about what is possible for those diagnosed with autism. They started by giving out blue light bulbs to friends, neighbors, and their schools. This small-scale campaign grew into larger events and opportunities.
