Nightly Danvers Highway Ramp Closures For Wrong-Way Detection Tests

Onramp, offramp and lane closures can be expected starting Sunday night in Danvers, Burlington, Plymouth, Webster and Bernardston.

DANVERS, MA — North Shore residents who use Exit 43 off Route 128 northbound and southbound at Route 62 in Danvers could encounter ramp and lane closures next week as the state Department of Transportation tests a new highway wrong-way detection system.

The system will be tested at exit ramps in Bernardston, Burlington, Danvers, Plymouth and Webster.

There will be intermittent lane and ramp closures nightly from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting Sunday night and continuing through Friday morning at each test location.

The Danvers closures will occur on Route 128 northbound and southbound at Exit 43 at Route 62.

The Burlington closures will occur on Route I-95 northbound and southbound at the Middlesex Turnpike exit Exit 50.

The Plymouth closures will occur on Route 3 northbound and southbound at Exit 13 at Long Pond Road.

The Bernardston closures will occur at I-91 northbound and southbound at Exit 50 at Route 10.

The Webster closures will occur at I-395 northbound and southbound at Exit 1 at Route 193.

The project is currently expected to be completed in Spring 2023.

Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect some delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
