Obituary: Dorothy A. (Delp) Belleau

The longtime Danvers resident had a long nursing career.

Danvers, MA - Dorothy A. (Delp) Belleau passed away peacefully on February 22, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Belleau for 60 years before his death in 2010. Born in Peabody on July 14, 1933, Dorothy was the daughter of the late George and Pearl Delp. She was a longtime Danvers resident.

Dorothy’s caring nature led her to the nursing profession. She graduated from the Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute School of Practical Nursing in 1968. During her nursing career, she worked as an LPN at Hunt Hospital and Pilgrim Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, and also as a private duty nurse.

Dorothy will be remembered by her family as a loving, kind, and generous matriarch. She was a classic movie enthusiast and a true family chef. Her enduring sense of humor and contagious smile will be dearly missed. A devout Jehovah’s Witness, Dorothy was an active and beloved member of her congregation.

She is survived by her five loving children: Robert Belleau Jr., Evelyn Abbott, Dawn Belleau, Kendra Warren, and Stephen Belleau. Her memory will also live on with her brother, George Delp; her sister, Phyllis Endicott; her four grandchildren; and her great grandchild. She is predeceased by her brother, Bradley Delp. Her family is grateful for the loving care she received during her last year from the compassionate people at Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm and Care Dimensions.

Dorothy’s memorial service will be held at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, 79 Endicott St., Peabody on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the “Peabody Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, c/o Richard Lawrence, 1 Braman St., Danvers, MA 01923” and to the “Putnam Farm Association Fund, Putnam Farm, 9 Summer Street, Danvers, MA 01923” see www.mackeyfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence.
