“I am his first dog. He didn’t know how to treat a dog,

so he treated me like a person. I can live with that. So can he.”

This Sunday, October 16, at 4:30 PM, stop by and (virtually) meet Nat Segaloff, esteemed nonfiction writer (more than 20 published books, including the soon-to-be-released "Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop: The Team That Changed Children's Television" available on Amazon), with a rich background in motion picture publicity, journalism, and TV producing.

Segaloff will be on Zoom (Meeting ID: 990 855 545 / Password: Saintfranc), reading from his new book, “Dog’s Diary: Living with a Human During Covid about the dog who saved him from complete isolation during the dark, lonely – very scary --early days of Covid. The author’s reading is sponsored by the Perfect Paws Ministry at All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore and it’s open to all.

"Dog's Diary" is a heartwarming look at two different species -- human and canine -- who find a connection and build a meaningful life together. It is a love story, believe it or not, a sweet, poignant bromance between the man named Nat, who had never had a dog before, and the dog named Louie, who -- as he explains in his diary -- had never had a Nat before!

Although Segaloff has written a slew of well-received books about an impressive array of really famous actors and directors, this new offering – about his beloved Louie -- is particularly close to our Perfect Paws hearts. Why? Because, rather than being about motion pictures and the people who make them, it's about an initially aloof Italian greyhound named Louie and a neophyte dog owner named Nat, who learn to trust one another and forge a deep relationship. It's about Nat, who offered Louie a third and definitely final home, and lovable Louie, who slowly shed his reticence and became Nat's best buddy. Buy it, share it and relish a good news story that grew out of the wretchedness of the Covid pandemic.

Oh, and by the way, thanks to its authors (hat tip Nat and Louie), a portion of the royalties from this book goes to the Perfect Paws Pet Ministry at All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore, which, as most folks know, supports humans and their pets including monthly prayer services for animals in transition; veterinary companioning; human pet loss bereavement counseling, therapy dog certification through Dog BONES Therapy Dogs of MA, and team deployment to schools, hospitals and to any people who can benefit from a little love on a leash -- all free of charge.

Oh, and you can find "Dog's Diary" in paperback and as an instantly downloadable pdf here.

The Perfect Paws Pet Ministry monthly service will continue at 5 PM. Everyone is welcome!!!
