2 Kittens, 1 With A Broken Leg Left On Side Of The Road In Dedham

One of the cats had a broken leg while the other had a rabbit nail stuck in its tail.

DEDHAM, MA — Two kittens, both only six months old were found in a box abandoned by the roadside. One of those kittens had a broken leg.

A witness, who was driving on High Street saw a man standing in front of a box on the side of the road. The witness decided to check out what was going on, according to a press release from the Animal Rescue League (ARL) of Boston. The man hopped in his car and drove away as soon as the witness pulled over, according to the ARL.

When the witness took a look inside the box, they were "stunned" to find two cats, both dirty. One of the cats had a broken leg while the other had a rabbit nail stuck in its tail. Inside the box was a note with "pertinent information," including the cats names, Arnold and Helga. ARL law enforcement is following up on this information.

The witness told ARL officials the man was driving a dark-colored SUV and described him as white and in his 30s or 40s.

The cats are currently in the care of the ARL’s Dedham Animal Care and Adoption Center. The cats will be monitored and nurtured to health before being put up for adoption before the holidays.
