DEDHAM, MA — Looking for a different kind of puppy who can give you his own special puppy love? Boomer the Great Dane pup is at the Dedham adoption center for the Animal Rescue League of Boston, and he's ready to find his forever home.

Boomer is only 8-months-old but already 70 pounds and shelter staff suspect he'll get bigger. He's been at the shelter for a little over a month. Boomer's big playful personality isn't the only unique thing about him, he's also deaf and has visual deficiencies, so shelter staff said it will be important for Boomer's adopters to work on training using positive reinforcement and incorporating hand signs.

While in a foster home, Boomer got along great with the other dogs and loves playing with the dogs in the shelter, so staff said it would be best that he go to a home with another dog. Since he's still a puppy and gets excited and jumps around, staff also suggest he go to a home with no small children.
