DEDHAM, MA — More than 600 Dedham residents have lost power, according to the MEMA's outage map. As of 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, 638 homes had their power knocked out. Severe storms ripped through the area, causing outages across the Commonwealth.

A severe thunderstorm and flash flood watch has been issued across most of Massachusetts as the remnants of what was once Hurricane Barry prepare to strike the Bay State.

The latest forecast is warning of torrential downpours, damaging winds and the potential of 1-inch hail. The rainfall could come at a rate of 3 inches per hour, the National Weather Service said. The severe thunderstorm watch is until 10 p.m. The flash flood watch is until 11 p.m.
