Dedham resident Emily Chan to skate in Ice Chips 2023: Full Throttle

Event will be headlined by Olympian Nathan Chen on April 7 & 8 at The Skating Club of Boston

The Skating Club of Boston, New England’s premier figure-skating club and training center, is bringing back their iconic Ice Chips theatrical skating show after a three-year hiatus, with a star-studded event headlined by Olympic Champion Nathan Chen.

Dedham resident Emily Chan along with her skating partner Spencer Howe, will be a couple of the featured performers at Ice Chips 2023: Full Throttle on Friday, April 7th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, April 8th at 1 pm & 7 pm. The show will be held at the Tenley E. Albright Performance Center at The Skating Club of Boston in Norwood, MA.

Ice Chips 2023: Full Throttle will also showcase a cast of local, national, and international competitors performing exciting solo performances and family-friendly, group, theatrical numbers. This year’s show promises to be especially memorable as it features music from across the decades, made new again with contemporary choreography and fresh energy.

In January, Emily and Spencer placed second overall in the senior pair’s division earning a silver medal at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in San Jose, California. They also finished second at the Four Continents competition in February and are currently training for the World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama Japan on March 22-26.

Nathan Chen, the 2022 Olympic gold medalist, three-time World Champion, and six-time U.S. National Champion, will perform in a rare, Boston-area appearance, bringing his signature showmanship and high-energy excitement that have captivated fans of every age from around the world.

“We are thrilled to not only have the world-renowned Nathan Chen here for Ice Chips, but to bring this event back after putting it on hold for three years due to the pandemic,” said Doug Zeghibe, CEO & Executive Director of The Skating Club of Boston. “We’ve hosted several successful events recently, including the international Skate America competition in October. It’s incredibly rewarding to see skating fans from around the world enjoying skating competitions and theatrical shows in our new, state-of-the-art facility.”
