Dedham Under Winter Storm Warning

The National Weather Service upgraded the expected storm Sunday morning.

DEDHAM, MA - After a day of uncertainty, Dedham's winter storm watch has been upgraded to a warning.

The National Weather Service announced a Winter Storm Warning for Norfolk County Sunday morning. The alert will be in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. Monday.

Snow is expected to hit the region between 6 and 10 p.m. Sunday according to the NWS. The snow will be heavy at times during the overnight hours and will likely persist into the first part of the Monday morning commute before coming to an end by the afternoon.

With snow accumulating on the roads, travel is expected to be hazardous Sunday night and Morning morning. The NWS reminds drivers that travel will be slow at best on well-treated surfaces and quite difficult on any unplowed or untreated surfaces.

A winter storm warning is issued when an average of six or more inches of snow is expected in a 12-hour period or eight or more in a 24-hour period.
