Dedham Vaccine Data: Early Days Of Eligibility Expansion

DEDHAM, MA — All Massachusetts residents over age 16 have been eligible for the vaccine for over a week, and this week's state vaccine data provides a look into the beginning of that rollout.

Over 300 Dedham residents under the age of 30 have received at least the first dose in the past week. Nearly 60 percent of Dedham's oldest residents — people over the age of 75 — have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state’s data. About three in four residents ages 65 to 74 — the second oldest age group — are fully vaccinated.

Thirty-eight percent of Dedham residents as a whole are fully vaccinated, up from 34 percent last week. Seventeen percent of the town's residents have received just the first dose.

Roughly 2.48 million people have been fully vaccinated in Massachusetts, the state reported Thursday.

Dedham reported 68 cases of coronavirus in the two weeks leading up April 24 according to the state report released Thursday, placing it in the "yellow" zone.
