DEDHAM, MA - Mark Twain once said, “If you don’t like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes.” He couldn’t have been more on the mark.

Most of interior Eastern Massachusetts is under a Winter Weather Advisory with snow and ice expected to come in late Tuesday afternoon, just in time for rush hour.

The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The forecast calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain. The area should see snow accumulations of just one to two inches, along with a trace of ice, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow is expected to overspread the area Tuesday before mixing with sleet before changing freezing rain around midnight. By early Wednesday morning, it will be all rain.

Officials warn untreated roads will become snow and ice covered resulting in slippery travel Tuesday night and overnight into Wednesday.
