Dedham Woman to Run Boston Marathon For Patriots Marathon Team

Campbell Probert is among 30 Patriots team preparing to run for the team's Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards Program.

DEDHAM, MA – A Dedham resident is among 30 runners on the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation's Boston Marathon team, which has raised more than $168,000 this year for the Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards Program.

Campbell Probert, a member of the Kraft Group, will run in this year's marathon as part of a nine-year endeavor that has raised more than $1.6 million for area children and families. Seven years ago, the Patriots' marathon team began raising money in honor of the late Myra Kraft, wife of owner Robert Kraft.

“Running has always been something that I have loved, both on an individual level and as part of different teams growing up. During my four years of college I was a member of the women’s lacrosse team and found not greater joy than training as a unit and working together towards a common goal. When I had the opportunity to join the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation Marathon Team, I was thrilled with the idea of becoming a member of yet another team, training as a group over such an extended period of time, and striving to raise as much money as possible for such an amazing foundation that aids youth and families in the New England Region. I couldn’t be more excited to take the course with this team in this historic race," Probert said.

This year's team includes seven Kraft Group employees, lifelong Patriots fans, first-time marathoners and avid runners, who will run the 26.2 miles with the goal of finishing while wearing a Patriots Marathon Team jersey, donated by Nike and All Sports Heroes.

"It’s been another exciting year for the Patriots on the field and that excitement has carried over to our Boston Marathon team," Josh Kraft, president of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, said in a statement. "We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to field a team for the most historic marathon in the world and we are grateful for the support of the Boston Athletic Association and John Hancock. This year’s team is a very dedicated and passionate group of runners, many of whom are running their first marathon, and are deeply committed to supporting the New England community. We can’t wait to see all of them cross the finish line on Marathon Monday."

In June, the Patriots will honor 26 volunteers from across New England with Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards for their community service efforts. Honorees will be invited to a luncheon at Gillette Stadium and receive their awards from Robert Kraft, and the non-profits for which the winners volunteer will be awarded a grant.

Donations may still be made to the Patriots' marathon team up until race day, April 17. Click here to donate.
