DEDHAM, MA — Everything Mom has done over the past year of the coronavirus pandemic should add up to an extra-special 2021 Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday, May 9. To start her the day off right, how about taking Mom to her favorite Dedham brunch spot?

Many restaurants and eateries are still limiting seating, so making a reservation early is especially important this year. And if you’re still undecided about going to a sit-down restaurant, curbside pickup or delivery is an option in many places.

But again, call ahead for reservations; some of your local favorites may be closed on Mother’s Day so the moms who work there can have a day off with their families.

Many restaurants offer prix fixe menus, signature cocktails, decadent desserts and five-star service.

Here are some suggestions in or near Dedham to get you started:

The Capital Grille, located at 250 Boylston Street in Chestnut Hill, is offering to-go service that includes a three-course dinner featuring roasted beef tenderloin with a choice of butter poached North Atlantic lobster tails or scampi-style jumbo shrimp, served with green beans, mashed potatoes, a baked flourless chocolate espresso cake and lemon tea cookies.

Yard House, located at 200 Legacy Place in Dedham, has a three-course Mother's Day takeout meal. You can also add a mimosa or Bellini kit. The prix fixe menu will have the option of one salad, one entree per person, a choice of two sides, and a dessert to share.

Seasons 52, located at 220 Boylston Street in Chestnut Hill, is offering a three-course dinner for Mother's Day that can come family-sized — starting at $100 — or for two — starting at $55. Choose from the whole roasted salmon, a glazed spiral ham or a beef tenderloin. Everything comes with salad, roasted green beans, choice of an additional side, and "mini indulgences."
