Meet Dedham ARL's Exotic Pets Waiting For Forever Homes

Two potbelly pigs and a bearded dragon are patiently waiting to be adopted in Dedham.

DEDHAM, MA — The Animal Rescue League of Boston's Dedham adoption center houses plenty of cats and dogs looking for forever homes, but it also is home to several exotic pets looking for forever families.

Some of the latest exotic animals at the Dedham location include a pair of potbelly pigs and a bearded dragon. The pigs are cheekily named Turner and Hooch and are a 2-year-old bonded pair. The pair has been at the adoption center for a little over a year.

"These boys are shy at first, but with some tasty treats, they warm up quickly. Both boys are cautious about handling, so they are looking for a home that is willing to put in the time to build a relationship with them," the ARL description reads.

The bearded dragon at the Dedham center is named Ballou and was found by a FedEx driver in Dorchester. The driver noticed the bearded dragon laying on the lawn of an apartment complex while making deliveries and called the ARL.

Ballou was soaked from a rainstorm and cold, so the ARL took him in and nursed him to health. The one-year-old dragon is up for adoption.
