Meet The Goats Of The ARL Dedham Shelter

These three furry friends are the GOAT.

DEDHAM, MA — There are plenty of animals in need of forever homes at the Animal Rescue League of Boston's Dedham shelter, but some of the 'non-traditional' pets can be overlooked by pet parents-to-be. The Dedham shelter is full of wonderful animals including three handsome goats looking for a forever home.

All three goats are up to date on their vaccines and over 6-years-old. The trio are bonded and would like to be adopted together.

First up is Mike, a 9-year-old alpine goat who loves a good scratch and will do anything for a treat. Mike came to the shelter in September of 2019 and is the oldest of the trio. He's neutered and sports a lovely tan coat and beard.

Kevin is number two in the trio. He's a 6-year-old alpine goat and his favorite thing in the world is treats — although he won't say no to some scratches. Kevin also arrived in September 2019 and rocks an all black coat with a wicked white stripe down the center of his face (clearly he's the fashionista of the trio).

Last but not least is Geronimo. He is the same age as Kevin and another alpine goat. Given his name, he might just be the natural leader of the group. He enjoys lots of scratches and treats and has a brown and black coat and beard.

Prior to adoption, the ARL does require a picture of the enclosure the animals would be staying in. You will also want to check with your town’s office in regards to permitting and zoning laws regarding livestock animals.

If you are interested in learning more about the trio, or any of our other adoptable animals, the ARL encourages residents to stop by and visit anytime during our open hours of 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, or call the Dedham shelter at 781-326-0729.
