Winter Storm Warning Issued for Dedham

The National Weather Services says Dedham could receive eight to 12 inches of snow.

DEDHAM, MA - As the area continues to clean up from Friday’s storm, a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Dedham and Norfolk County.

As of Sunday afternoon, Dedham is projected to get eight to 12 inches of snow through Monday night, according to the NWS. The warning will be in effect from 4 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The snow will start early Monday morning, continuing through dawn and the rest of the day. The NWS warns that the snow could be heavy at times.

The chance of snow during the day is 90 percent, lowering to 80 percent during the evening. There is a 50 percent chance of snow Tuesday, 40 percent chance Wednesday, and 30 percent chance Thursday.

A Winter Storm Warning is issued when an average of six or more inches of snow is expected in a 12-hour period or eight or more in a 24-hour period. Travel will be slow at best on well treated surfaces and quite difficult on any unplowed or untreated surfaces, according to the NWS.
