New Parking Meters Come To Dedham Square

DEDHAM, MA — Some of the parking meters in Dedham Square will be used as part of a pilot program to study parking in the area.

Two advanced meters for four on-streets spaces have been installed outside of 573 High St., according to John Sisson, the town's economic development director. The meters will be used to gather information about parking usage, raise awareness about new parking management technologies, and to collect feedback from residents, businesses, and visitors to Dedham Square.

The meters will accept payments by coin, card, and mobile apps. Other options, such as E-Z Pass, could be enabled if the town decides to use pay-by-plate technology.

The pilot will run through October. Following the pilot, the findings will be shared online, at a community meeting, and with the selectmen.
