Obituary: Cynthia Carroll, 46

Cynthia Leigh Carroll, 46, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on March 20, 2016. A lifelong resident of Dedham, MA, Cindy graduated from Dedham High School in 1987 and from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1991.

Loving mother to Ryan Michael (7), she was the daughter of Maureen (Haberger) and the late LT. Edward James Carroll, Jr., Brookline Fire Department (Retired).

Cindy served 24 years at the General Services Administration for Region 1 - New England Region and was the Chief Financial Officer of Public Buildings Service. She treasured summers on Cape Cod, and believed that Seaview Beach in Bass River was among the best places on earth. Her fortitude, courage, and steadfastness towards her breast cancer inspired all who knew her.

In addition to her son and mom, Cindy is survived by brother Edward James, III (Ed/E.J.); sister-in-law Suzanne; nephew Edward James IV (E.J.); and niece Kaelyn all of Dedham; as well as a large circle of extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cindy was a devoted lover of animals.

Funeral from the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, Wednesday at 9:10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Brookline at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will take place on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Interment Walnut Hill Cemetery, Brookline.
