Obituary: Eric Plathe, 13

Eric Plathe, age 13, of Dedham, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2016 as a result of a tragic accident. Born on August 4, 2002 in Weymouth, Eric is the son of Henry and Cyndy (Munn) Plathe.

He was a student at South Shore Christian Academy, where he enjoyed playing soccer and basketball. He loved both his friends at school and in his neighborhood in Dedham.

In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by his siblings, Henry J. “Jay” Plathe Jr., Andrea L. Plathe Roy, Gregory R. Plathe, and Jonathan L. Plathe. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Mary Plathe, of Dedham, his maternal grandmother, Beth Munn, of Rome, GA, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Eric will be remembered for his happy and joyous spirit, his fondness of animals, and his love for family and friends. Eric knew no strangers and was a genuine friend to everyone.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 6 pm in the First Baptist Church, 40 West St., Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, Eric’s family requests donations be made to South Shore Christian Academy, Eric Plathe Scholarship, 45 Broad Street, Weymouth, MA 02188.
