AMERENA, James R. “Bob” (Det. BPD., Ret.) Of Dedham formerly of Dorchester and East Boston, June 30, 2015. Beloved husband of June M. (McCormack) Amerena for 65 years.

Devoted father of June Pierce and her husband Lloyd of West Roxbury, Bobby Amerena and his wife Felicia of FL., and Jean Panciocco and her husband Dan of Walpole. Cherished “papa” of Jillian Pierce and Jamie Pierce and her fiancé Paul Connerty and Danny and Nikki Panciocco. Special “papa papa” of Keira Nicole Connerty. Brother in law of Patricia Lynch. Cherished uncle of Joanne Stahley and Patrick Lynch.

Late Detective BPD., Area B, Roxbury. Member of Boston Police Patrolman’s Assoc., Italian American Police Assoc., Emerald Society, Silver Shield Assoc., Jacob Jones VFW Post #2017, Dedham and the American Legion Post #18, Dedham.

Funeral from the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury Tuesday at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church, West Roxbury at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
