Presidents Day 2020: What's Open, Closed In Dedham
Post offices, banks, and schools will close to honor George Washington and Abe Lincoln.
DEDHAM, MA — Monday is President's Day, not to mention the first day of February vacation for public school students throughout Massachusetts. The holiday was actually established in 1885 to honor President George Washington. It was later renamed Presidents Day to celebrate the birthdays of both Washington on Feb. 22 and President Abe Lincoln's birthday on Feb. 12.

- Taverns, bars: Open.
- Banks: Closed.
- Stock market: Closed.

- Libraries: Closed.
- Schools: Closed.
- Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery only.
