Stray Cat Found Frozen To Shipping Container In Dedham

Schooner the cat is recovering after being found frozen and stuck to a shipping container outside of a TGI Fridays.

DEDHAM, MA — A cat is lucky to be alive after it was found frozen, stuck to a shipping container outside of a TGI Fridays in Dedham last week. Named Schooner, the cat is recovering at the Dedham Animal Rescue League and looking for a forever home.

ARL was contacted by Dedham Animal Control Officer Jayson Tracy. He found the cat early last Wednesday, stuck to the container outside of TGI Fridays along Providence Highway. The cat was carefully removed from the container, and brought to ARL’s Animal Care and Adoption Center in Dedham.

It’s likely that Schooner’s fur was wet and with bitter cold and real-feel temperatures well below freezing, once the cat came in contact with the container he was immediately stuck, according to the ARL. Officials aren't sure how long Schooner was stuck.
