Wind Chill Warning Issued for Dedham

Wind chill readings between 20 and 30 below zero are expected.

DEDHAM, MA - Make sure to grab an extra sweater, jacket, and perhaps a more layers, because it’s going to be quite cold this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Child Warning for most of Massachusetts, effective from 4 p.m. Saturday to Noon Sunday.

A Wind Chill Warning is issued when the wind chill index is likely to fall below -25 degrees for at least three hours.

During the warning, expect life threatening wind chills and near record cold air temperature, with the wind chill reading between -20 to -30 degrees. A few locations in the higher elevation areas can expect chills near -35 degrees.

In this weather, frostbites can occur in as little as 10 minutes. The NWS advises limited outdoor exposure. If you are heading outside, dress in layers and keep your hands and head covered.
