Ali Hamilton Fundraiser Attracts Big Crowds and Raises Thousands

Fundraiser Success will support the Eastondale Playground and OA Scholarships

This past weekend the Ali Hamilton Memorial Fund held an event at the Stoneforge in Easton which crowds of people and raised more than $10,000. These funds will go directly to benefit the Eastondale Playground renovations and future maintenance, as well as to fund scholarships set up at Oliver Ames High School. Funds raised came from ticket sales in advance and at the door, raffle prizes, and a 50-50 raffle. Some people also walked in to simply drop off cash.

Steve Hamilton, a local police officer who founded the Fund in honor of his daughter, said, "Last weekend's event at the Stoneforge was such an incredible feeling. To see the community come together and express their support for Ali’s Memorial Fund was overwhelming. The line was out the door; people were smiling and expressing to our family how wonderful it was to turn such a terrible tragedy into something positive. It was truly amazing. I wouldn’t be able to thank each and every individual who came, but I just want everyone to know how thankful and appreciative we are."

Many thanks to the countless local business sponsors and raffle sponsors:
