EASTON, MA — Easton will get hit with heavy rain, 60 mph winds, and possibly a thunderstorm early Thursday.

The storm could knock out power in the region, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory is in effect through Thursday at 7 p.m. Gusts could reach 60 mph. Thunderstorms could hit early Thursday morning.

There will be two rounds of strong winds—one Thursday morning and another in the afternoon.

Here’s the latest from the National Weather Service:

  • A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM EST THURSDAY.
  • LOCATION...SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS.
  • WINDS...THERE WILL BE TWO ROUNDS OF STRONG WIND GUSTS. THE FIRST WILL BE LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. A BRIEF PERIOD OF SOUTHERLY SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH MAY OCCUR IN HEAVIER SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS. THERE IS EVEN A LOW RISK FOR A FEW GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH IF ANY STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP. WINDS THEN SLACKEN FOR A TIME THURSDAY MORNING...BUT A SECOND ROUND OF SOUTHWEST SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS BETWEEN 45 AND 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
  • TIMING...LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING WITH A SECOND ROUND EXPECTED THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
  • IMPACTS...STRONG WIND GUSTS MAY DOWN LARGE TREE LIMBS AND RESULT IN ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES.
