Tropical Storm Isaias Causes Havoc In Easton
Easton fire reports many downed trees and limbs as storm races through New England with high winds and downpours.
EASTON, MA — Easton was one of the towns heaviest hit in Southeastern Mass. on Tuesday as Tropical Storm Isaias raced through New England with a burst of heavy wind and downpours.
Easton fire reported trees and limbs down — blocking roads and damaging vehicles all over town.

Heavy wind gusts courtesy of Tropical Storm Isaias knocked out power for nearly 190,000 homes and businesses across Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency reported 188,113 were without power as of 6:17 p.m. Tuesday.

Many of the outages were in western, central and southeastern Massachusetts. Some of the hardest-hit communities include:
- Attleboro: 9,778 outages (49 percent of power company customer base)
- East Longmeadow: 6,343 outages (93 percent)
- Swansea: 4,987 outages (66 percent)
- Pembroke: 4,660 outages (60 percent)
- Bridgewater: 4,027 outages (40 percent)
- Northborough: 3,800 (56 percent)
- Stoughton: 3,343 (26 percent)
- Franklin: 3,750 outages (27 percent)
- Rehoboth: 3,553 outages (68 percent)
- Monson: 3,342 outages (87 percent)
