128 North Reopened Following Deadly Crash In Gloucester

A 22-year-old Gloucester man was killed in a crash on Route 128 North Monday morning.

GLOUCESTER, MA — A 22-year-old Gloucester man was killed when he crashed into the back of a truck on Route 128 North Monday morning, State Police said.

Police said Johnathan Silva was driving a 2012 Kia Forte when he crashed into the back of a truck driven by a 64-year-old Lawrence man around 7:45. Silva was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

The crash closed the highway for more than four hours. All lanes were reopened shortly before noon noon.

There was a second crash on Route 128 South across from the fatal crash. There were minor injuries in that one, State Police said. The left lane was temporarily closed.
