Dorothy E. (Hatcher) Brown: 60-Plus Year Resident of Wenham

Dorothy E. (Hatcher) Brown, 93, beloved wife of the late Robert Brown Sr., died Sept.16, 2015 in Florida where she was being cared for during her illness by her daughter-in-law, Karen.

Born and raised in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Florence (LeSuer) Hatcher. A resident of Wenham since 1948, she was a member of the American Legion Post #132 in Wenham and the Lady’s Fireman Auxiliary in Wenham.

Mrs. Brown enjoyed boating and tuna fishing with her husband, which she did for over 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her youngest grandson, David, whom she helped raise through his childhood.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Robert Brown Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Wenham; two grandsons, Robert J. Brown of Wenham and David E. Brown of Taunton; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emily Brown and Annabelle Brown.

Funeral services will be held graveside at the Wenham Cemetery, Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
