Hamilton-Wenham: How To Recycle Your Christmas Tree

There are options to recycle your Christmas tree in either town until Jan. 9.

HAMILTON-WENHAM, MA – Unadorned trees can be recycled for free until Monday, Jan. 9. Iron Tree Services is donating the tree chipping in each town, and will bring the chips to be turned into compost at Brick Ends Farms.

In Hamilton, trees can be brought to the area behind Patton Park at the old bon fire collection point.

In Wenham, you can drop your tree off in the Pingree Park parking lot.

Donated trees must be free of ornaments and lights, and the recycling sites are not accepting wreaths, plants, garlands, baskets, or brush. According to Hamilton Wenham Green, anything but naked trees is much harder to chip, and could damage equipment.

The compost will be used for next spring's growing season.
