Hamilton-Wenham Volleyball Out of Tournament

The match went to five sets, but the Generals fell just short.

The Hamilton-Wenham volleyball team’s season came to a dramatic end Friday after a five-set loss to Tewksbury in the first round of the Division 2 North MIAA tournament.

The Generals jumped out to the lead in the match, taking the first set 26-24. Tewksbury came back to win sets two and three, 20-25 and 15-25, before the Generals evened the match with a fourth set win (25-14).

Tewksbury went on to take the fifth set, 9-15.

Hamilton-Wenham Coach Jennifer Flynn commended Lauren Flynn, sophomore outside hitter, on a “steller” game with 19 kills, 21 digs and a 100 percent serving night. Junior setter Tori Vivenzio had 47 assists and 18 digs and Ali Kimball, sophomore outside hitter, added 34 digs. Senior captain libero Cassidy Cring contributed 26 digs.
