Local Teen's Kickstarter to Benefit Acord

A Kickstarter fundraising campaign was launched by Bimba Carpenter, a local 11th grader, with all proceeds benefitting Acord Food Pantry. The campaign will run through December 6, 2019 and Bimba’s goal is to raise $10,000 to fight food insecurity.

Using her artistic talents, and graphic design skills, Bimba created a line of streetwear, called Mac & Tees, which includes t-shirts and hats, for the sole purpose of raising money for Acord Food Pantry.

“Mac & Tees is a streetwear startup focused on the improvement of low-income lives,” said Bimba Carpenter. “Similar to Bombas and Toms, I have set out on a design journey to create apparel that is both fashionable and supportive of our community. I feel that it is our responsibility to give back to those who need it most. So, all of the profits we make will go to the Acord Food Pantry, a local food pantry, that helps to support the North Shore.”

A total of $8,832.00 was donated to Acord from her first Kickstarter campaign in October 2018 and Bimba is hoping to raise $10,000 this holiday season.

How to Donate:

Based on donor feedback, Bimba is offering 3 ways to give this year - choose the one that’s easiest for you:

1. Donate via Bimba’s Kickstarter page. This is the easiest way to give to her campaign.

2. Write a check directly to the “Acord Food Pantry” and mail it to Acord with "Mac and Tees" in the memo. Acord will let Bimba know about the donation so she can record the level of giving and then give the donor the relevant gift based on the size of the donation. This way, you get the full tax benefit in 2019 and you get a gift from Bimba in return for your generosity. Acord's mailing address is PO Box 2203, South Hamilton, MA 01982.

3. Donate directly to Acord online at https://www.acordfoodpantry.org/donate and email Bimba a copy of the receipt at [email protected]. Same benefit as in options 1 and 2.
