Melody Miles To Raise Money For Arts Education

The annual Melody Miles Road Race will raise money for arts education in the Hamilton-Wenham School District.

HAMILTON-WENHAM, MA – The Melody Miles Road Race is back to raise money for arts education in the Hamilton-Wenham School District on Saturday, May 27.

Student singers and instrumentalists will greet runners along the course through Hamilton and Wenham. The money raised for Melody Miles goes toward instrument lessons, arts-related programs and field trips, and the purchase of instruments and supplies. The race is sponsored by the Hamilton-Wenham Friends of the Arts program.

Race day registration begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 27 and participants may pre-register online at www.melodymiles.org for $20. The 5K and 5-Mile races begin at 10 a.m. Walkers are also welcome.

Be one of the first 200 runners to register and receive a free Melody Miles T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded in nine categories for both the 5K and 5-Mile races. In addition to the prizes, there will be a gold medal "Gina Bowler Award" given to a woman in the 70+ women's division in honor of Gina Bowler who was "a lifelong walker who loved runners too."

Regina Bowler was a founding member of FOTA and a great advocate for all the arts in our community. Her spirit has helped guide the Melody Miles Road Race since the very beginning.
