Salisbury Dog Care Owner Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

SALISBURY, MA — A woman from Newbury who owns and operates two dog care and kennel companies out of Salisbury and Byfield was arraigned Wednesday on three counts of animal cruelty in Newbury District Court.

Jennifer Ford, 34, of Byfield, Newbury, who owns and operates Seacoast Canine was held without bail overnight pending a dangerousness hearing Thursday.

On Thursday, Judge Peter Doyle found Ford to be dangerous and released her on $5000 cash bail. Ford is also ordered to stay at least 100 feet away from business/business animals, not to work with or possess any animals other than those she presently owns. Ford must also allow law enforcement, animal control, and MSPCA on her property to enforce the court order.

She must also stay away from and have no contact with witnesses unless it is in writing for business matters.
