With cold weather coming through this weekend, the NWS says roads will quickly become snow covered, especially Sunday evening and overnight.

Some heavy, wet snow is possible over Southeastern Massachusetts, including Cape Cod which may increase the risk for down tree limbs leading to power outages.

A Winter Storm Watch is issued when there is the potential of accumulating snow of six or more inches in a 12-hour period or eight or more inches in a 24-hour period.

The NWS adds that anyone traveling in the next 24 to 36 hours should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to modify travel plans based on the most current forecasts.
